Young Pioneers Illustrations
I am in the process of creating illustrations for an upcoming book called "Young Pioneers," which will be published by the STAR Scholars Network. This book features children who have made an impact in our world, whether it be through environmental action, writing books, creating new inventions, or working for social change.
Tools Used: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Sketchbook, Pen
My Process: Each drawing begins with a rough sketch of the young pioneer as they appeared in a reference photograph. Using a photograph as a template, I drew the subject in Adobe Illustrator. I later imported the drawing into Adobe Photoshop, where I used the paint tools to apply shading and color. Meanwhile, I continue to tweak the illustration and went back and forth between the two programs until I am happy with the final result.

Alice Imbastari
For the drawing of Alice Imbastari, I removed the background from the photograph, replacing it with natural elements: blue sky, a leafy tree, and a green lawn.
